Security, Access and Closed Circuit Television Systems

The first steps before designing a security or CCTV system is to ascertain the exact requirements of the client. Is it an intruder alarm system, an access control system, CCTV installation or simply better physical security (fences, better external lighting etc) that would provide the most effective solution? The best solution after careful consideration may be a combination of different systems. It is normal to be able to integrate these systems to provide the client with an overall security installation.

Each element of the security installation (intruder alarm, access control and CCTV) has many variations. For example, an access control system can utilise PIN code keypad, magnetic swipe card, proximity tag or biometric information can be used to gain access to restricted areas.

These systems can typically be monitored on site or by a remote service centre with direct access to the emergency services.
